Glossary 3: Mechanics
AUTOMATED: A Technology with Automated activates its ongoing effects and triggered abilities even when not assigned to any Character. Abilities that reference a User still require the Technology to be assigned to a Character. Automated is an ongoing ability.
BERSERK: A Character with Berserk gets +X% Attack, where X% is the amount of damage received by that Character, divided by that Character's total HP. When a Character with Berserk heals up to their initial HP, they die. Berserk is an ongoing ability.
FRIGHTEN: Whenever Frighten triggers, the frightened Character moves to the right of their rightmost ally, leaving their own Slot empty. Frighten always refers to enemies and is a triggered ability.
GET: A card acquires a modification to their stats or abilities. Get can be either a triggered ability or an ongoing ability. If it's included in a triggered ability, the effect is permanent. If it's included in an ongoing ability, the effect will cease when the card providing it leaves the Board.
GRIP: Whenever an Armed Character with Grip moves from one Slot to another, they do so with their assigned Technology. If necessary, other cards will move to make room for them. Grip is an ongoing ability.
HEAL X: Whenever Heal triggers, the healed Character recovers X Health Points (HP). A Character cannot exceed their max HP through healing. Heal is a triggered ability.
OBEY: Whenever Obey triggers, the obeying Character exchanges places with their ally in the first Slot. No other Characters move. Obey always refers to enemies and is a triggered ability.
RIOT X to the (Left or Right): Whenever Riot triggers, the rioting Character moves X Slots to the specified direction. If X is greater than the number of occupied Slots in that direction, Riot continues from the other side of the board. When necessary, Characters move a Slot to their right to make room for the rioting Character. Riot always refers to allies and is a triggered ability.
SWAP: Whenever Swap triggers, swapping Characters exchange Slots. Swap always refers to allies and is a triggered ability.
TOUGHNESS X: A Character with Toughness receives X less damage whenever they are attacked. If a Character with Toughness X gets Toughness Y by any method, they have Toughness equal to the highest of the two numbers +1. Toughness is an ongoing ability.
