Important Rules

First Turn Rule

On the first turn, there is no Draw Step.

General Planning Rule

Characters cannot attack right away, at least during the first turns of the game. They must first plan out their moves. We call this process Planning.

On Turn 1, every Character enters the Board with 3 Planning points. At the end of each turn, every Character’s Planning is reduced by 1. Then, on the second turn, Characters enter the Board with 2 Planning points, and so on until they enter the board without any Planning points, starting on Turn 4. A Character is considered to be Ready when they have 0 Planning points. Some Characters have a Planning modifier, most commonly adding points as an additional cost for more powerful effects.

Weapon of Choice Rule

Whenever a card enters the board or cards are reorganized due to game events or abilities, it may happen that a Character ends up sharing a column with a compatible Technology. If that's the case, the Character picks up that Technology and becomes its user. A Technology is considered to be compatible with a Character if:

  • They belong to the same player, and

  • They share a Faction or the Technology doesn't have a Faction.

Unhealthy Player Behavior

Repeated instances of unsportsmanlike behavior by any player will result in an indefinite ban at our discretion.

Tournament Rules

NFT Cards Rule

Whenever a tournament requires any number of Deviants Factions NFT Cards to sign in, they will remain locked from other tournaments and must remain in your wallet until the end of the competition. One single copy of each NFT Card from the deck will be registered (lowest mint number), leaving other copies free for other tournaments or trading.
